Cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. are a sign spring is here. The cherry blossoms along the tidal basin are a must see for any nature lover. They are absolutely beautiful. Shooting the Jefferson Memorial, Washington Memorial and the African American History Museum are my favorite shots with cherry blossoms.
The Yoshino cherry trees only bloom for about 14 days with many celebratory events happening during this time: National Cherry Blossom Festival, Blossom Kite Festive, Cherry Night, Pink in the Park, Cherry Blossom 5K & 10 Mile, Petalpalooza, National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade, Japanese Street Festival.
Be prepared to walk about 2.1 miles around the tidal basin and enjoy the breath-taking Cherry Blossoms!
